Peter Lehmann Of The Barossa Cabernet Merlot 2009
It is now Barossa legend that Peter Lehmann established his winery in the late 1970s to protect the livelihood of the local growers who were facing financial ruin. Knowing that this would be a gamble, Peter adopted the Queen of Clubs-the gamble's card,as a symbol of new beginnings. This same Queen of Clubs has since inspired artists to create label images that represent the character of each wine within our Barossa Art Series range. Don Tomkin's Cabernet Merlot Queen captures the rich, round lusciuosness of this red wine. The Cabertnet Sauvignon aromas of leafty balckcurrant meld perfectly with the soft plum notes of the Merlot. Deep in colour with a richly structured palate and lingering flavours. Enjoy with roast turkey, an Indian lamb curry,or a tasty matured cheddar. Proving again that great winemaking is indeed an art.
