Peter Lehmann Of The Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
It is now Barossa legend that Peter Lehmann established his winery in the late 1970s to protect the livelihood of the local growers who were facing financial ruin. Knowing that this would be a gamble, Peter adopted the Queen of Clubs-the gamble's card,as a symbol of new beginnings. This same Queen of Clubs has since inspired artists to create label images that represent the character of each wine within our Barossa Art Series range. Michelle Wheadon's Cabernet Sauvignon Queen captures the elegance and structure of this superb red wine. Full bodied and deeply coloured,it is a complex blend of blackcurrant, chocolate and cedar leading to a firm, textural finish. Best enjoyed with beef, rich game dishes or a good cheddar, this wine proves again that great winemaking is indeed an art.
