De Martino RSV Carmenere 347 Vineyards
This line was named 347 to represent the number of vineyards that De Martino has vinified thus far throughout Chile in search of the best terroirs. The concept reflects Chile’s diversity and De Martino’s pioneering spirit. Made from the fruit of carefully selected parcels throughout Chile: 16 hectares in Maipo Valley, 5 hectares in the Cachapoal Valley, and 6.2 hectares in Maule Valley with altitudes ranging from 245-350 meters above sea level. Using the trellis training method, the vineyards have a planting density of 4166 vines/hectare in alluvial soil with granite components. This Carmenère has a deep red hue with violet reflections. On the nose, it expresses intense notes of red fruit, tobacco, and cassis, followed by subtle hints of vanilla lended from the oak aging. It is full-bodied and fresh, concentrated with a perfect balance of fruit, vanilla, and chocolate. An excellent accompaniment to grilled or roasted meat and game dishes. It also pairs well with tomato-based pasta dishes and pizza.
